Expanding Our Knowledge to Serve You Better
Earlier this year, Commtech Services Inc. added another feather to their already very decorated cap. The company is now Confined Space Certified (CSA-ES) through HAZMASTERS in British Columbia. The certification is fully recognized by WorkSafeBC.
What is a Confined Space?
According to WorkSafeBC, a confined space is an area “, other than an underground working,” that is
- enclosed or partially enclosed;
- not designed or intended for extended periods of human occupancy;
- limited in means for entry or exit that may impede the delivery of first aid, evacuation, rescue, or other emergency response service;
- is large enough and configured such that a worker can entry and perform his or her assigned work.
Why is this Important to My Business?
Many commercial and industrial spaces have confined areas located on their premises for one reason or another and many of these spaces contain mechanical equipment. Complications can arise when personnel enter confined spaces without sufficient instruction on how to perform their work there. More importantly, should a workplace injury take place in a confined space, emergency personnel need to take particular measures to delivery first aid with reduced mobility.
Commtech Services Has You Covered
Given the great potential for personal danger in environments such as these, WorkSafeBC has outlined very specific parameters for operation that you can view in their Regulations Documentation.
Commtech Services Inc. has completed the HAZMASTERS CSA-ES course that certifies the company to enter, attend (occupy), supervise work in, and (if necessary) facilitate a rescue from confined spaces.
Choosing Commtech Services as your mechanical contractor not only gives you the peace of mind that you have an expertly trained service provider on hand for your appliance and process needs. Choosing Commtech Services also means you have covered your business from any kind of expense or loss arising from inadequate industrial safety training.
